MTB Trails
BC has a long history of innovative trail building that has helped push the boundaries of mountain biking. Perhaps its the adventurous hard working spirit of those that originally established this province out of the frontier that now drives us to carve amazing single track through some of the most spectacular wilderness in the world. Whatever the case, in just about every community throughout BC you will find mountain bike trails.
Many mtb trails have been built without proper authorization from the land owners. Although provincial laws protect land owners from liability associated with unauthorized use (i.e. trespassers that injur themselves) efforts are underway to authorize more trails in the province and create better managed trail networks. Authorized trails generally ensure a more dependable experience for the rider by having proper wayfinding signage and regular trail maintenance and risk management assessments.
