Revelstoke The spring has brought lots of rain to the Revelstoke DH trails but it hasn't brought down the spirits of the locals riders and volunteers. More riders than ever have been spotted lapping up all the new and old trails on Boulder and Frisby. Last season’s trail work has held up nicely and some new work on the Cash Advanced and Loggin’ Leftovers in the spring have those trail quickly becoming local favorites. Following in the footsteps of the XC Toonie Race series, the DH committee has organized its own race series and the first 2 of 4 races have already been completed. The chainless race down TNT was a great way to start things off and reward riders who could flow the trail and make the least amount of mistakes. Marty Shaffer and newly crowned Canadian DH Champion Casey Brown were the winners of Round 1. The second race was held on Boulder's newest trail, Loggin' Leftovers. The rain was coming down hard and made for slippery conditions but 30+ riders stilled showed up to race, with Stu Dickson and Theresa McGeragle winning this round. Two more races will be held in September and October so keep your eyes on your inbox for the latest updates about the race series.
New DH jerseys are being printed as I type so keep an eye out for those in the near future. We have a very limited amount of jerseys and sizes so when the update comes out, make sure to buy them up quick before they are gone. Finally, as I mentioned earlier, a huge congrats goes out to local shredder Casey Brown for her huge win at the Canadian National DH Championships at Mont St‐Anne, QC last week. Casey will now wear the Canadian Champion’s jersey at the upcoming World Championships in Austria. Casey spent a lot of time riding the local DH trails this spring in preparation
for the World Cup circuit and it has obviously been paying off. Yeah Casey!!
