Spring Riding in Revelstoke - Well under way!!

The 2012 mountain biking season is upon us and the Revelstoke Cycling Association (RCA) Board and Committees have been hard at work preparing for it.  Mind you last year will be hard to top!

After the RCA, the downhill riding group and Revelocity joined together we got lots done in 2011.  Some of last year’s accomplishments included the opening of the new Frisby Ridge trail to rave reviews and fabulous riding as well as the construction of a new 6 km trail on Mt Macpherson, named Flow Down, which looks like it will be a great new addition to the Macpherson trail system.  Other work on Macpherson included a major reworking of Sex on the Beach to make it rideable in both directions and a ton of maintenance on lots of other trails.  All the Boulder trails became recognized as legal trails and most saw major work to rebuild and improve them after the logging from 2 years ago.  The expanded XC Toonie Race series was a great success.

So on to plans for this summer.

The XC Toonie Race Series will be expanded again this year and we are hoping to add a DH Toonie Race Series as well.  On the construction side we have plans for improvements on the Macpherson, Boulder and Frisby Ridge Trail systems. We are also planning for more volunteer work party days on Macpherson and Boulder.

We are looking forward to another great riding season and hope to see you all out on the Revelstoke trails!
