Visitors seeking a northern challenge can check out the mountain biking trails at Pidherny Recreation Site. For any skill type, visit the extensive trail network at Otway or the easy, relaxed rides with river views, cycle the Heritage River Trail, which follows the Nechako River as it merges with the mighty Fraser River. You can be confident that excitement is never far away in Prince George.

Getting Here & Trail Access

Prince George is located at the crossroads of Highways 97 and Highway 16.

Found at the confluence of the Fraser and Nechako Rivers and two major highways, this city is easily accessible by car from any direction in BC.

Driving Distances & Times:

  • Kamloops - 520 km (323 mi), 6 hours
  • Calgary - 780 km (485 mi), 9 hours
  • Vancouver - 780 km (485 mi), 9 hours

Air Canada and WestJet offer a number of direct flights daily from Vancouver to Prince George Airport (YXS) and daily commuter flights to northern communities are serviced by Central Mountain Air.

Arriving by train is another option, with the “Skeena” train—operated by VIA Rail—connecting Prince George with both Prince Rupert and Jasper.
