The Okanagan Valley has one of British Columbia’s most unique landscapes. Its climate ranges from relatively warm dessert-like in the south to more humid and milder in the North Okanagan. Okanagan Lake is the centerpiece of the region and facilitated sustenance and trade for the Syilx People for thousands of years. Today, the Okanagan is quickly being recognized as one of the best areas to travel to ride your mountain bike and for a variety of great reasons. Not only are the trails and local nature both stunning and spectacular, but the Okanagan is also known for its locally produced food, wine, beer, indigenous culture, local hospitality, and sandy beaches.
Penticton, Kelowna, and Vernon are the three main centres surrounding Okanagan Lake. Each has its own unique trail networks offering something for everyone including the rail trails from a bygone era that now connect communities as well as some of the trail networks, vineyards, and beaches.
